Regional Centre for Biotechnology invites application for admission to PhD Admissions for the academic year 2014

Established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India as a UNESCO Category II Centre, RCB provides opportunities to motivated students for education, training and research in the Biotech sciences

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology PhD Programme is available in the following broad areas:

Eligibility for Regional Centre for Biotechnology Phd Admission 2014

Applicant should have completed M.Sc in any branch of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) or M.Tech or MBBS or M.V.Sc or M.Pharm or any equivalent qualification with 60 per cent aggregate marks at both Bachelor degree and Masters degree levels

Also applicant should have qualified or have valid scores from any of the following exams:

i) Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)

ii) Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST-INSPIRE)

iii) DBT Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF)

iv) ICMR Junior Research Fellowship (ICMR-JRF)

v) Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

vi) Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS)

Candidates appearing for any one of the above exams may also apply provisionally

Admission Procedure

Eligible candidates will be short listed for an interview on the basis of scores/ranks in: CSIR, DBT, ICMR, INSPIRE, or GATE or JGEEBILS (December 2013 exam)

Final selection will be based on performance in the interview

Fellowship: Fellowship is available for an initial period of two years which may be extended by three additional years based on Annual Review by the research committee

Aliah University invites application for admission to the following programmes through Aliah University Admission Test, AUAT-2014

Except 2-year M.Tech in CEN, ECE, CSE, EEN, MEN admissions to all other courses run by the University are made through Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT)

Eligibility for Aliah University Admission Test 2014

A candidate has to satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing AUAT-2014

a) Applicants applying for AUAT-2014 should have passed / expected to pass the qualifying examination listed in Section before getting admission to the courses they wish to apply at the time of counseling

Group-A/B: Class XII (Higher Secondary or equivalent examination) passed with at least 45% marks or equivalent grade

For MBA 45 percent % marks in English is also mandatory

Candidates appearing in Class XII examination may also apply, but they shall not be eligible for admission unless they secure an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent grade

Group-C (except MJMC): Candidates with Honours/Major in the concerned subject from any UGC recognized university with at least 45% marks or equivalent grade

MJMC: Honours/Major in any subject from any UGC recognized university with at least 45% marks or equivalent grade

Group-D: Candidates must have taken Arabic with at least 100 Marks in total in the final examination of the 10+2 pattern securing at least 45% in Arabic

Qualifying Exam: Candidates applying for AUAT-2014 in 4-year B.Tech, 5-year integrated and 3-year Arabic Hons courses should have either completed or should be appearing in 2014 in any one of the following qualifying examinations

a) The final exam of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as WBCHSE, West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME), Central Board of Secondary Education (New Delhi) (CBSE), Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISC), etc.

b) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University

c) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy

d) General Certificate of Education (GEC) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level

e) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University

f) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system

g) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects or H.S. Examination Conducted by W.B. Council of Rabindra Open Schooling

h) 3 or 4-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.

Age Limit: Maximum 22 years as on 01st July 2014 for Group A/B and 25 years as on 01st July 2014 for Group-C courses

Application Form for AUAT 2014

Read the admission information brochure and eligibility criteria carefully before starting your application process

Applying in courses you are not eligible for will only cause your application to be rejected & application fee will not be refunded

You have to ensure that you fill in all details and complete the entire application process at one go. If you leave it in between, you will have to start the process once again

After you have completed the form and made payment, you will get a unique application ID. Please use this ID in all communications

Students filling the online application can pay the application fee through online payment mode (Debit card / Credit card / Net Banking), Demand Draft (DD)

Make sure you have the Card details or Demand Draft ready before starting the application process

You will need to upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature in the online application form. Image size should be less than 500KB. Keep the name of the Image file as “Pic” for photograph and “sign” for signature (No special characters allowed in the image file names)

The Candidate who wants to pay through Demand Draft must purchase the Demand Draft in Favour of “The Registrar, Aliah University” Payable at Kolkata

Submission of confirmation sheet along with documents is Mandatory for all

Applicants who have appeared for NET- JRF Examination of the CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR/ DBT/ DST etc. in the above disciplines but are yet to get the result are also eligible to apply

However, such applicants will be required to produce the proof of having qualified the NET-JRF examination at the time of interview

Seats are available for Self-Financing Foreign Nationals and Foreign Nationals under various scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Human Resource Development/Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India

General Eligibility

Applicants should have a minimum CGPA of 6.75 (or 60percent (%) marks) for General, 6.25 (or 55percent (%) marks) for SC/ST, 5.75 (or 50percent (%) marks) for physically handicapped (PH) applicants on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination and should also have qualified GPAT/GATE/NET

Percentage of marks or CGPA will be based on the norms of the concerned university / Institution or aggregate marks or CGPA scored by the candidate for all years of the qualifying degree, in case University / Institution has not prescribed any norm for calculating such percentage or CGPA

Passing GPAT/GATE/NET is an essential qualification for all disciplines except for the following category of applicants:

i) Applicants holding M.D / M.V.Sc

ii) Foreign nationals

iii) Sponsored candidate from Government Departments, Research and Development organizations, Public Sector Undertakings/Reputed Pharmaceutical Enterprises

Provisional Application:

Applicants appearing for final qualifying examinations may also apply but they must produce final result and mark sheet of qualifying degree on the day of Interview failing which their candidature will be summarily rejected

No plea/request shall be entertained

Relaxation:

Relaxation in CGPA to 6.25 on a 10-point scale or in marks to 55percent (%) or equivalent in the eligibility criteria is allowed to SC/ST applicants

Physically handicapped (PH) applicants are permitted relaxation in eligibility requirement of CGPA to 5.75 on a 10-point scale or to 50percent (%) marks or equivalent

No other relaxation beyond this limit will be allowed even if they belong to SC/ST category

SC/ST applicants should furnish a caste certificate signed by Tehsildar/ District Magistrate

Physically handicapped applicants should furnish a medical certificate indicating a minimum of 40percent (%) of physical defect or deformity duly signed by a Medical Board and countersigned by Principal Medical Officer of a Govt Hospital

Sponsored Applicants:

The sponsoring private sector undertakings will be accredited by the committee constituted for the purpose

Qualifying criteria shall be as per Academic Programmes and Eligibility criteria

Applicants should submit a Sponsorship Certificate on a proper letter head stating that for the period of his/her studies/research in the Institute the candidate would be treated on duty with usual salary and allowances and that he/she will be relieved for the period for pursuing his/her studies and that the fees of the candidate will be paid by the sponsoring organisation

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of study leave must show proof to the effect that he/she will be/has been granted leave for the period of study in the Institute

Candidate is required to submit experience certificate of at least 2 years duration from his/her present employer

Candidate should have completed duration period on the day of application/online registration

In case employer of the candidate withdraws sponsorship at any stage during the duration of the programme or if the student leaves his/her job of sponsoring company, such sponsored candidate shall cease to be a student of the Institute from the date of withdrawal of sponsorship

No placement assistance is provided to the applicants sponsored by public/private sector undertakings, government departments, and research and development organizations

Selected applicants shall be admitted to the programme, after he/she deposits fee through his/her employer together for a minimum period of 3 years (6 semesters) in the shape of demand draft at the time of his/her admission

Foreign Nationals:

Foreign nationals under various scholarship schemes of the MHRD/Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India may be considered for admission on the recommendation/ sponsorship of the respective Ministry subject to eligibility criteria

Applications from self financing foreign applicants may be entertained directly by the Institute provided the requirements for eligibility under the respective programme are fulfilled and their applications are cleared by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India

Such applicants have to arrange for the clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India before they can be admitted, if selected

How to Apply NIPER PhD Joint Admission Test..?

Candidate shall fill the registration form online by registering on www.niper.gov.in

The process of online registration shall commence on 14th April 2014 (09.00 am) and will continue till 28th April 2014 (05.00 pm)

However, before registration, applicants shall have to remit registration fee of Rs1500 (Rs750 for SC/ST) through:

a) Online transfer to Account Number 65116506648 (NIPER Net Banking Account of State Bank of Patiala, NIPER Campus Branch, Sector-67, Mohali, Branch Code No. 51018; IFSC No. STBP0001018).

b) Applicants can also transfer registration fee by depositing it in any branch of State Bank of Patiala across the country into the Account Number 65129619046 (NIPER Fee Account) of State Bank of Patiala, NIPER Campus Branch, Sector-67, Mohali (Branch Code No. 51018)

Applicants shall fill ‘Fee Deposit Slips’ in triplicate (‘Fee Deposit Slip’ is also available on the website www.niper.gov.in/admissions.html) and hand it over to the bank along with registration fee

Applicants shall have to fill up all items given in online registration form (including bank UTR No. / NEFT No. / Journal no. (for State Bank of Patiala users) and date of online payment made for Rs1500/- Rs750), uploading soft copy of recent photograph and scanned signatures, submit form, take printout of the Registration slip, put signatures at the bottom of registration slip and attach following:

i) Copy of the award letter (if any) pertaining to NET- JRF of CSIR/ DBT / UGC / ICMR etc

ii) Sponsorship certificate from industry/government sponsored applicants

iii) Photocopy of acknowledgement of bank receipt (containing UTR No. / NEFT No. /Journal no) towards registration fee

Indian nationals residing abroad and foreign nationals have to remit US$ 100 (or equivalent in Indian Rupees) through online transfer to the above account number

Eligibility

Should have Postgraduate degree in any branch of Science having a minimum of 50% or equivalent score Average (GPA).

Holds a legitimate junior analysis Fellowship from CSIR / UGC / ICMR / DBT / DST-INSPIRE / BINC and Fellowship ought to be valid as on the date of change of integrity. Online application in the prescribed form are invited from eligible candidates for the General Aptitude Test for determining eligibility for admission to Full‐time / Part‐time research leading to Ph.D / M.Sc. (Engineering) by Research Degree.

Eligibility for University of Kerala Phd MSc Entrance Exam 2013

Candidate’s who have secured not less than 55% marks at the Master’s Degree Examination are eligible to apply for the test.

Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering with not less than 55% marks are eligible to apply for the test for securing eligibility for admission to M.Sc (Engineering) by Research.

Candidate’s belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes who hold Master’s Degree in Science and Applied Science faculties with atleast 45% marks and Master’s Degree in other faculties with 40% marks are eligible to apply for the test.

Physically / Visually handicapped candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks.

Candidate’s who have appeared for Master’s Degree Examination and whose result is still awaited may also apply for the test.

However; such candidate’s will be considered eligible for admission to research leading to Ph.D Degree provided they pass the Master’s Degree Examination with at least 55% marks and have been declared qualified in the test.

Candidate’s who have already qualified in the National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship or Lectureship of the UGC / CSIR or ICAR / GATE or ICMR JRF test or candidate’s who are selected for Fellowship by the Kerala State Council for Science; Technology and Environment or the State level eligibility test conducted by the Kerala Government or who hold M.Phil Degree by research and thesis in addition to a Master’s Degree or its equivalent with not less than 55% marks are exempted from Eligibility Test.

Candidate’s with DBTJRF are exempted from the PhD Entrance Test and they are permitted to register for research leading to PhD Degree in Biotechnology

Candidate’s with DST‐INSPIRE fellowship are exempted from Ph.D Entrance Test candidate’s who have qualified (GPAT) are exempted from Ph.D Entrance test and are permitted to register for research leading to Ph.D Degree in Pharmacy

Scientists / Ayurveda Doctors working in Pharmaceuticals / Hospitals / Research Centres owned by Government with 7years experience and having 2research papers published are exempted from the PhD Entrance Test.

Scientists / Engineers working in approved Research Laboratories either owned or managed by the Central / State Got or an Autonomous research Institution of National Status with 7years experience in the Grade Scientist / Engineer; having 2 research papers published in the recognized research journals of the concerned subject approved by the Board of Studies concerned, are exempted from the Ph.D Eligibility Test.

College teachers who have 7 or more years of teaching experience are also exempted from the Eligibility Test candidates with DM / M.Ch Degree are exempted from appearing for the test

Those who have qualified M.Phil in subjects other than the subjects in which he / she seeks registration for PhD would be required to qualify the Eligibility Test

Candidate’s Selected to the QIP (Quality – Improvement Programme) introduced by AICTE, for teachers of AICTE approved degree level Engineering Institutions are exempted from Ph.D Entrance test

Registration will be granted to the eligible candidate’s only if the concerned Supervising Teacher has vacant seats at the concerned research Centres

PartTime Registration

Part‐Time Ph.D registration shall be restricted to regular / permanent teachers of the Department and affiliated colleges of the University of Kerala in the concerned subjects

Part‐Time registration is also extended to teachers who are working in substantive vacancies in Govt and Aided Colleges in the State of Kerala

However; the facility of part‐time PhD registration (1) in library and Information Science is also extended to those who are working as Library Staff in the University of Kerala on regular basis with a minimum of 3years experience if all other conditions are satisfied and (2) in Management Studies is extended to those persons working in managerial position with a minimum of 3years experience in Govt. and Public Sector undertakings provided all other conditions are satisfied

Test: The eligibility test shall be conducted on 12th October 2013 from 10.00 am – 01.00 pm

Scheme of the Test

The general aptitude test will be of three hours duration and will carry a maximum of 200 marks and the test comprises of General Knowledge (40 marks) Short answers (120 marks) and an Essay (40 marks )

Post graduate level knowledge of the subject and aptitude for research are expected of the candidate

Mode of Application for University of Kerala Phd MSc Entrance Exam 2013

Online registration can be done at the university web site of www.research.keralauniversity.ac.in

Candidate’s should apply online and download the application and send it along with the necessary documents and fees to the registrar by 31st August 2013, 05.00 pm

All relevant documents proving qualification and eligibility should be send along with the application duly signed and attested by a gazetted officer

Incomplete application will be summarily rejected

General: The cost of application form is Rs.-10/‐ and the fee for the test is Rs.-750/‐; for candidates belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes the fee for the test is Rs.-375/‐ (Rs.-10/‐ service charge in case of Demand Draft (DD))

Applications can be downloaded after online registration from the web site of Kerala University (Rs.-10/‐ for downloading charges)

All remittances should be either through University Cash Counter or Demand Draft (DD) issued by the State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of India or the District Co‐Operative Bank drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, payable at Thiruvananthapuram

The downloaded application furnished for the examination should be accompanied by self addressed stamped and easily detachable envelope for sending the pass memo

In the absence of envelope, a fine of Rs 50/ will be charged

Copies of Master’s Degree Certificate and Mark List attested by a Gazetted Officer should be sent along with the downloaded application

A comprehensive mark-list showing the exact percentage of marks secured or an equivalent certificate should be furnished

In case of grades awarded certificate showing percentage equivalency should be furnished

Candidate’s who have qualified from Universities outside Kerala University should produce copy of Eligibility Certificate; the photographs affixed in the application and hall ticket should be attested by a Gazetted Officer and the name and designation of the Officer should be clearly shown

Copy of relevant certificate in the case of SC / ST candidates attested by a Gazetted Officer should be sent along with the downloaded application. Recent community certificate (within 6 months) should be furnished

Candidate’s who have appeared for Master’s Degree Examination and whose results are still awaited should send a copy of the Hall Ticket attested by Gazetted Officer along with the application

Fee once paid will not be refunded; physically handicapped candidates should contact the section (AC EIA) with the relevant document to prove the disability on or before 31st August 2013

The last date of receipt of application is 31st August, 2013 at 5.00 p.m.

Eligibility for Govt. College of Engineering Aurangabad Phd Admission 2013

Eligibility for Admission: A candidate can apply for admission to PhD Program if he / she satisfy the following conditions provided he/she has not registered for PhD or any other course at any other institute / University

Passed Bachelors and Masters degree examination in appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology of this institute or from affiliating university or any other recognized universities Or

A candidate’s who applies for registration on the basis of his / her research work leading to Masters degree (M.E. / M.Tech by research) in relevant discipline of Engineering / Technology should have at least 60% of aggregate marks or equivalent grade points of recognized institute / university relevant with the subject.

He / She must have minimum of 60% marks or equivalent at the PG Examination.

Candidate belonging to SC / ST category or physically challenged / disabled candidates shall be given relaxation of 5%

A Parttime candidate desirous of registration to PhD who is working in any registered organization / institution / firm / company / industry should submit NOC from the employer along with the application form

Reservation: The reservations will be as per the reservation policy of the Government of Maharashtra

Head of the Institute shall be the final authority for seat distribution

Selection Procedure for Govt. College of Engineering Aurangabad Phd Admission 2013

The Desirous candidate’s are required to apply for admission to PhD Program in the prescribed format with all the necessary documents

The selection process for admission to PhD Program shall be in two stages

StageI: All the candidates applied for admission to PhD Program are required to qualify in a written examination in the relevant discipline conducted by the institute

The entrance test shall be of duration 2 Hrs for 70 marks consisting of objective questions in the relevant discipline

The qualifying marks in entrance test shall be 28 marks (40%); those who qualify in the entrance test shall only be eligible for Stage‐II

StageII: The candidates who qualify in the written test shall appear for a presentation and interview before the duly constituted evaluation committee

The presentation / interview shall be for 30 marks

The candidate has to obtain a minimum of 50 marks in Stage-I and II together (50%) for qualifying for admission to PhD Program

However obtaining qualifying marks does not entitle the candidate for admission to PhD program

A candidate’s having a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline is exempted from the written test

However he has to appear for presentation/interview and obtain a minimum of 15 marks (50%) for qualifying for admission

His / her score in the presentation and interview converted to 100 marks shall be considered for his/her position in the merit list

For Part‐time candidate, the normal place where he/she proposes to carry out his/her research work after successful completion of credit courses

Relevant Certificates

Attested copies of following documents / certificates should be attached with the application form; all the candidates should attach attested photocopies of relevant documents related to his educational qualifications and experience as claimed in the application form

The employed candidates should attach a NOC from the employer in the prescribed format (For Part‐time candidates)

All the candidates will be required to produce a Nationality Certificate

Candidates claiming to belong to backward class will be required to produce a certificate to that effect from appropriate authority in addition to Nationality Certificate; candidates belonging to categories SC, ST, VJ / DT / NT (A), NT (B), NT (C), NT (D), OBC, and SBC, will be required to produce a Caste Certificate, Caste / Tribe Validity Certificate and valid Non‐Creamy layer certificate (if applicable)

Nationality Certificate

The Certificate of Indian Nationality is a part of the Domicile Certificate, which is usually issued by the Tahshildar / Executive Magistrate / Dy. Collector of the concerned District / Taluka

In lieu of this “Certificate of Indian Nationality” following Certificates/Documents will also be acceptable

Indian Passport in the name of the Candidate’s, issued by appropriate Authorities school leaving certificate indicating the Nationality of the Candidate as ‘Indian’

Birth Certificate of the Candidate’s indicating the Place of birth of the Candidate’s is with-in India

Caste Validity Certificate

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, VJ / DT NT (A), NT (B), NT (C), NT (D), OBC, and SBC category are required to produce Caste Validity Certificate at the time of filling of the application form

NonCreamy Layer Certificate

Stipend / Scholarships

Teaching and Research Assistantship will be provided for Full Time Non sponsored candidates only under World Bank assisted TEQIP‐II project

All the non sponsored candidates pursuing full time PhD Programs are entitled to receive amount of fellowship of Rs.-18000/ per month for the first and second year

No candidate selected under part‐time / externally registered category / sponsored shall receive any scholarship / stipend

Fees

Presently the fees are Rs.-48260/ per year plus other charges as applicable; in addition, the institution may charge other fees applicable as approved by the institute authorities

The fees are to be paid in full every year till the submission of final synopsis of the PhD work
